SuiteCommerce Advanced

A B2B webshop that runs directly on NetSuite, with your own customer prices, assortment and stock. I deliver new webshops, upgrades of older SCA releases, extensions and customisation, for NetSuite customers and for NetSuite partners who need SCA expertise.

What SuiteCommerce Advanced is

SuiteCommerce Advanced (SCA) is NetSuite’s own e-commerce platform. The webshop uses the same data as your ERP: items, stock, customers, prices, orders and invoices. An order in the webshop is a sales order in NetSuite straight away, and a price change in NetSuite is online straight away.

For B2B that is the big advantage. Every customer sees their own prices, their own assortment and their own order history, and nobody has to synchronise that data between two systems.

SuiteCommerce Advanced is specialist work. You need someone who knows both the NetSuite configuration and the webshop, and those people are hard to find. I’ve worked with it for about five years, on around ten projects.

Comparison

SuiteCommerce or SuiteCommerce Advanced?

NetSuite offers two variants. They share the same foundation and the same B2B features. The difference lies in how far you can customise and who handles the upgrades.

I first check whether SuiteCommerce with extensions is enough. Every change to the SCA source code has to be reviewed again at each upgrade, so it’s a choice you want to make deliberately, with a functional design behind it.

What I do

From analysis to a webshop that keeps running

New B2B webshops

Analysis of your ordering process, functional design, NetSuite configuration, testing and go-live. With SuiteCommerce Advanced or SuiteCommerce, depending on what your process needs. My projects are mostly B2B.

SCA upgrades

Moving a webshop on an older SCA release to the latest one. I’ve worked with releases from 2019 up to 2026 and know where older customisations usually clash with a new release.

Extensions and customisation

Extensions, SuiteScript 2.x, custom records and custom fields, and integrations through the API. Only after we’ve checked whether the standard product can do it.

NetSuite configuration behind the webshop

Website setup, items and matrix items, price levels and customer-specific pricing, Personalized Catalog Views and customer roles. Plus Site Management Tools, so your team can manage texts and banners themselves.

Payments

Integration with a payment service provider, so an online payment lands correctly in NetSuite and your accounting adds up.

Who does what

I do the analysis, functional design, NetSuite configuration and testing myself. For the webshop development I work with a fixed development team. You have one point of contact for the whole project.

B2B features from my projects

  • Customer-specific prices and price levels, straight from NetSuite.
  • A separate assortment per customer or customer group with Personalized Catalog Views.
  • Several countries and languages in one webshop, with the right items and prices per country.
  • Customer roles: who may order, and who sees which prices.
  • Budgets and a points system per user, for organisations that let their employees order.
  • Item visibility per subsidiary in a NetSuite OneWorld account.
  • Matrix items, such as one product in several sizes and colours.
  • Online payment through a payment service provider, with the payment recorded as a customer deposit in NetSuite.

SCA upgrade

An upgrade in four steps

The older the release, the more customisation you have to review. Every release you skip makes the next upgrade bigger.

01

Inventory

Which release does your webshop run on, which extensions and source code changes are there, and what is still in use?

02

Design

For each customisation we decide: keep it, turn it into an extension, or drop it because the new release does it out of the box. I record that in a functional design.

03

Build and test

The development team moves the webshop over in a sandbox. We test ordering flows, prices and payments with your own customers and items.

04

Go-live

Moving to production at a quiet moment, with a fallback plan and support in the first weeks.

From practice

Projects, anonymised by sector

I did most of these projects for or together with a NetSuite partner, so I don’t name clients.

Membership organisation · Netherlands

B2B webshop with budgets and points

An ordering webshop with budgets and a points system per user. First an SCA upgrade as the foundation, then the new features, each with its own functional design. As a subcontractor to a NetSuite partner.

Security · Belgium

Upgrade of several SCA webshops

A number of SCA webshops that hadn’t been upgraded for three years, moved to the latest release. Inventory of the existing customisations, design and coordination of the development team.

Life sciences · Finland

New SCA webshop from a Figma design

A new B2B webshop on an existing NetSuite account. The Figma design became a custom theme, and the structure of the NetSuite account was cleaned up along the way.

Manufacturing · international

SuiteCommerce for several regions

Regional webshops on one NetSuite OneWorld account, with item visibility per subsidiary, matrix items, online payment and tax calculation.

For NetSuite partners

Are you a NetSuite Solution Provider with a client on an SCA webshop, and no SCA specialist of your own or not enough capacity? I can step in as a subcontractor. I take on the analysis, functional design, NetSuite configuration and coordination of the development, and you keep the client relationship.

I work on an hourly basis: you pay for the hours we work. I know how partners run projects, with budgets per functional design and a status per item, and I report within that structure.

I work in Dutch, English and French, on projects in the Benelux and across Europe.

Questions

Frequently asked questions about SuiteCommerce Advanced

What is the difference between SuiteCommerce and SuiteCommerce Advanced?

With SuiteCommerce, NetSuite applies new releases automatically and you customise the webshop with extensions and your own theme. With SuiteCommerce Advanced you also get access to the source code. That gives more freedom, but you decide when to move to a new release and you take your customisations along.

Do I need to upgrade my SCA webshop?

An SCA webshop keeps running on the release it was built on. The longer you wait, the more customisation you have to review at the next upgrade. An inventory tells you how big the step is, and whether it’s better to upgrade now or later.

How long does an SCA upgrade take?

That depends on the release your webshop runs on today and on the amount of customisation. After the inventory you get an estimate in hours and lead time.

Is SuiteCommerce Advanced suitable for B2B?

Yes. Most of my SCA projects are B2B: customer-specific prices, an assortment per customer, customer roles, several countries and languages, and budgets per user.

Do you work for other NetSuite partners?

Yes. I work as a subcontractor for NetSuite Solution Providers that have an SCA project and lack the expertise or capacity, on an hourly basis.

Do you write the code yourself?

I do the analysis, functional design, NetSuite configuration and testing myself. For development I work with a fixed development team. You have one point of contact for the whole project.
