AI
AI for SMEs
AI only pays off when it’s connected to your systems and people know what it’s for. I help SMEs move from a trial account to a way of working that lasts.
What usually happens
A company buys licences. Two or three enthusiasts get started and the rest watch. Six months later nothing has changed in how the work gets done, and someone decides that AI doesn’t work for them.
Usually two things are missing. Someone who explains what AI is good at and where it falls short, and someone who connects AI to the systems where the data lives. An AI that never sees your order flow stays an expensive chat window.
What I do
From use case to daily use
Choosing use cases
Together we decide which work AI can take over: answering emails, summarising documents, checking orders and invoices, following up customers who go quiet. For each use case I estimate the time saved and the risk.
Connecting it to your systems
Claude connected to your ERP, webshop, mailbox and documents, through N8N and the APIs of your software. Then you can ask which customers ordered less this quarter than last, and get a draft email for the three largest straight away. Together we decide what AI may read, what it may write back and what happens when something goes wrong.
Support until it runs
I explain what AI is good at and where it falls short, give your team a way of working and expand step by step. I stay involved until it’s used every day.
My ground rules
- Start with work you can check in 10 seconds. An email, a lookup. Widen the scope only after a stretch in which you haven’t had to correct anything.
- Look at what already exists first. Only build something yourself if you can explain why the package can’t do it and who will maintain it in 2 years. AI makes building cheaper, and maintenance costs as much as it always did.
- Connect AI to the source. Data you paste into a chat window yourself is out of date next week. A connection to your ERP and webshop gives current figures every time.
- Record permissions and failures. What may AI read, what may it write back and who gets notified when it goes wrong? It’s the same discipline as with an ERP integration.
Tools and privacy
I work with Claude and I’m a Claude Certified Associate (Foundations). For the integrations I use N8N, see N8N and integration. Which tool fits your situation depends on your data, your budget and your privacy rules.
Where your data goes depends on the tool you choose and its settings. We discuss that before we start, together with your agreements with data processors. I’m not a lawyer: legal advice belongs with your own adviser.
AI moves fast and I learn something new every week. When I don’t know something, I say so.
Let’s look at what this means for your situation
A first conversation is free of obligation. You’ll get an honest answer, even when that answer is a different approach.
